The artist Erica Ferrari presents her installation selected at the Prêmio Funarte de Arte Contemporânea 2015 – Galerias Funarte de Artes Visuais São Paulo. The project Estudo para Monumento was specially developed with wood and discarded material, in part carbonized.
At work there is tension between the history and significance of the modernist Columbushaus building, designed in 1932 by the German architect Erich Mendelsohn and set on fire in June 1953, in popular protest in the former East Berlin; And the first headquarters of the National Union of Students (UNE) in Praia do Flamengo, which was attacked in April 1964 and today is rebuilt with a project by architect Oscar Niemeyer.
