SCHLOSSPARK, BAD HOMBURG
31.05.2015 - 04.10.2015
Joana Vasconcelos takes part in the Biennale Sculpture Blickachsen that celebrates in 2015 its 10th anniversary.
Established as one of the most relevant exhibitions of contemporary sculpture in Europe, the primary concept of the biennial is to present works by contemporary artists in historical places, frequently UNESCO heritage sites.
Blickachsen 10, curated by Christian K. Scheffel, shows approximately 90 sculptures and large scale installations by more than 30 international artists. The event will be held along nine places on the Reno-Meno region, from gardens to archeological sites and castles.
Joana Vasconcelos's giant iron teapot Pavillon de Thé, which has previously been shown in Versailles, and Fruit Cake, a cupcake three meters high made of beach moulds, will be installed at the Schlosspark, one of the main venues of the biennial.
